A game that teaches programing and logic in a more visual way
What is it?
Logical tanks is a game made over the fall 2020 school semester. It started out as an assignment for User Interface but grew to be much more. It developed into a full game with 17 levels. Each level teaches or lets the user learn something new that is related to programming and/or logical thinking. The game lets user's focus on the concepts of programming rather than the syntax.

Why was it made?
As mentioned before the game was designed for a University class but the class only required the basics of the program to work. I wanted to make a full game that when played gives its users hours of entertainment. The UI aspect of the game is what took the most work to get working correctly and what felt comfortable to use.

Future plans?
I would like to make this game more polished since I ran into a deadline and just had to publish a working playable game. I would like to add more levels and rework a few levels that either take too long to complete or seem repetitive. New features could also be added like colored bullets, one way doors, or timed explosions. There are a few bug fixes that need to be addressed like sometimes (VERY RARE) the simulation does not work at 1x speed the same way 10x works.
Overall I am happy with the state of this project and how much of a finished game it is even if the graphics and effects could be improved. |
